African Methodists Episcopal Zionites believe:
The Fatherhood of God
He is the Creator and the Sustainer of all life, the Maker and Creator of all things, visible, and invisible, Who loves us and wants the very best for us.
The Sufficiency of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is all-sufficient for salvation, restoration, guidance in this life, and the fulfillment of the promise of eternal life after death.
The Holy Trinity
There is but one living and true God, everlasting and without body or parts, of infinite wisdom, power and goodness. In the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Salvation by Faith
Salvation from sin and justification before God is gained only by faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Salvation cannot be gained by performing good works or being a “good person” although good works, which are the fruits of faith, will follow justification. We are accounted as righteous before God only by the merit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by faith.
The Forgiveness of Sins
God is faithful and merciful and loves us so much that if we turn to Him with genuine sorrow and true repentance and ask for forgiveness of our sins, He will forgive us
The Holistic Gospel
We believe the Holy Bible is the Word of God and use it as our guide in life and worship. The Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ contains all things necessary for salvation but also contains wisdom and precepts for living a happy, healthy, and wholesome life for everyone. The preaching and teaching of the Gospel is the foundation for all that we do.
The Empowerment of the Holy Spirit
He gives us the ability to live for God in the world and to be examples of the life of Christ working through us. He gives us comfort, understanding, direction, peace, love, and joy so that we may endure the challenges of this life.
The Priesthood of All Believers
Every Christian shares in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and all those who believe in Him are working together to establish His Kingdom in the world.
